Summer: I live with my mum and her husband, Mike. Mike isn’t my biological father, he’s my stepfather. Mike also has a daughter called Francesca. She’s my stepsister. And then there’s my brother, Jamie. His mum is my mum, and Mike is his dad, so he’s my half-brother. We’re a blended family – and I love it!
Ted: I have two mums. To me, it’s not important who my biological mother is. It is just important that I have somebody who looks after me. My mums are really good at that! I really like our little rainbow family.
Stacey: I live in a foster family. That means that the two adults that I live with, Nicola and Andrew, are my foster parents, but they are not my legal parents. They are looking after me for now. Hopefully, they will be able to officially adopt me soon so they will be my adoptive parents.
Freya: We are a big patchwork family! That means that two divorced families are living together. So, my dad has me and my sister, and Rachael – my dad’s girlfriend – has Zack, my stepbrother. But my dad and Rachael don’t have any children together. They’re happy with the three of us!
Aaron: We are a single-parent family. That means that I only live with one parent – my dad. He is raising me and my brother by himself. I visit my mum once a month, but she lives in the north of England and I live in London, which is in the south.
Mary Ann: I live with my mum and my dad so I guess you can call us a traditional family. We have got a dog, Bruno. I would call him family, too. My grandmother and grandfather live in the house next door. I can always go to them if I have a problem. The only thing I don't like is that I'm an only child. I would love to have some siblings, no matter if they were brothers or sisters. I want to have a big family myself in the future.
